About the Band


Formed in 2016, Samana Rising features a fresh take on today's popular music blending different styles like pop, rock, blues, funk and soul to create their own musical genre. During 2016/2017 the band has slowly built a reputation as a must see live act in their native area of Stavanger, Norway. Samana Rising released their debut single Time to Wake Up on October 27th, 2017. The single was well received by fans and critics alike. Stavanger Aftenblad gave a rave review of the song. Time to Wake Up also received some airplay at local radio stations.

2018 has proven to be a busy year for Samana Rising. The band got invited to appear on a local student tv show made by the University of Stavanger, called ‘’Sweetspot’’ where they were interviewed and performed the songs, Mountains and Leave Me, live in studio. This performance is available on the band’s Youtube channel.

Samana Rising spent a weekend in early february at SkamBra Studios in Kvernaland, Norway where they teamed up with producer Jørgen Manke to continue to work on their forthcoming EP. The first song from this collaboration, Without Your Love, was released on April 20th, 2018. The single was included on Stavanger Aftenblad’s official Spotify playlist as one of the best new released tracks of week 17. Without Your Love was well received and the first release of the band that was played on international radio. Nova Radio Newcastle, UK dubbed Samana Rising as – ‘’future starts in the making.’’ The band’s next song – Dizzy, will be released as their third single on August 10th, 2018.

Samana Rising has played several live shows during the first half of 2018. Highlights are the short live set they did on the Norwegian Constitution Day at the outdoor arena at ‘’Stavanger Konserthus’’ in front of an audience of 8000 people, played as one of the main performers of ‘’Kleppeloen’’, an outdoor one day festival in Klepp, Norway, and also the private concert the band did for the inmates and staff at Stavanger Prison. Samana Rising will next play ‘’Fjåge I Vågen’’ in Stavanger on August 10th, 2018.

The band will enter SkamBra Studio again in September to start recording their forthcoming EP release.
